How can I keep my nerves under control?

So this guy and I have been texting for a super long time, (I met him over a year ago) we haven't seen each other in a long time because he moved and recently came back (now we go to different schools). In two days we are both going to be attending a birthday party. We have feeling for each other. I'm nervous about seeing him. How can I not be so nervous and what should I say?

well a goofy but reliable trick to calm your nerves and put you at ease ANY given time is to eat a banana. Bananas have been proven to help calm us, sorta like meditating. Try eating a banana before going to the party :)
But otherwise, wen you meet him, just be yourself! Socialize, ask questions, let him talk about himself, and in return, tell him a lot about you :) Remember to have fun! Show him that your a great, fun person to hang out with! :D
If you're nervous, tell him :) Maybe he'll be nervous too! If he's not, then don't worry about it :) Its a natural feeling we all go through, and you'll get used to it once you're there!

Don't be nervous or you might act a little silly. Tell him you're kind of nervous. Who knows he might be nervous too

We've both already admitted we're nervous.

If you both know you guys are nervous then it shouldn't be bad. Just laugh things off if it gets awkward. You'll be at a party with other people so just stay around other people

When you don't know what to say, JUST SMILE. Try and keep just the right amount of eye contact. Maintain composure by singing a song you really like in your head and get into a groove.

Just walk right up to him and give him a big hug (or a kiss if the mood strikes you) and that will relieve any tension and your nerves will disappear. By taking the initiative, you put yourself in control of the situation. Have fun and good luck! It's great that you are to see each other after such a long time!

The best thing you can do when you meet anyone is to ask questions. It shows you are interested in them. It gets them talking. Do you like sports? Whats your favorite team sport? Do you like books? What was the last good book you read? Once the conversation is going on all will work out. This works with a new person in school, boys, girls, even adults. Remember though to be yourself. If he doesn't like that, its better you find out right away. You don't want to be with someone who only likes your alter ego. You want someone who truly likes you. You seem like a nice person. I think everything will go great.

One way is to chew gum, it gets anxiety out of you so you can be calm - hope this helps! :)

Use the "SOS" technique.
S = Step-back ; O = Orient ; S = Self-check.
Google the above for an in-depth explanation of above technique.
And yes, as many above say, taking deep breaths while focusing on something in front of you or around you (rather than thinking or remembering something or some event) helps.

By the way, if you ever visit Worcester, Massachusetts and need to go to the emergency room, don't go to St. Vincent hospital-- go instead to Mass. General hospital that is nearby.
Dr. James Rifino, Jr. (who works at St. Vincent's emergency room) is a very rude and arrogant ER physician. He also has numerous complaints filed against him at the hospital and the Mass. Board of Medicine by many patients. He's also being sued for causing the death of a patient under his care.

Remember, he is just as nervous as you are and probably more so. Guys are more likely to be devastated by a look or a remark than girls are. You don't have to "be" or "do" anything special. Just be yourself. Don't talk about yourself unless he insists. Stay on the side of caution and find out all you can about him by asking questions. This will calm your nerves and you will better be able to evaluate just who he is. Most people are not what they seem on the internet, so be ready for that.

I don't think you really read the extra information. I met him or a year ago, IN PERSON. Then when he moved away we started texting. Now he's back and I've only seen him once since. Not to mention he sort of "cheated" on me...
