How do I stop a stray cat from urinating in my bushes right outside my front door? It is really stinky!

I don't know what cat is doing it or where it comes from... but I grew up with cats so I know the smell they leave when they spray. It is such a strong odor. What can I do to keep the strays away and out of my bushes?

You can get a dog, or set out traps (rat traps won't seriously hurt a cat, but they probably won't come back!). Rubber snakes or strong smelling things like mothballs also sometimes work.

Thank you... But I can't get a dog just because of that! However, we are thinking about getting a dog maybe for Christmas, but it will primarily be an inside pet. It will still probably help!

I have a relative who had a similar problem with dogs going on her lawn and she sprinkled cayenne pepper over the grass periodically and they didn't do it again.

Go to the hardware store and get a product called: "Git!" No really, it has 30,000 btu's of cayenne in it. Stay only squat once. =)

A friend had the same problem with racoons. A neighbour told him rhe solution: the alpha male in the house had to pee in several corners of the lot, marking it as his territory.
