Nope. All North Korea does is threaten to attack, they never do anything. North Korea has said they're going to put my country in a sea of flames more than 10 times since I've been alive, and they've never done a thing. I don't think any country should be concerned about the North Koreans. And North Korea isn't in the condition to attack another country also...
Not in the least. IF they had nuclear technology (they probably don't) - they don't have the rocket technology to send a missle over. As far as invasions? Their military is so malnutritioned they wouldn't put up much of a fight - and if given a chance to "invade" another country - they would probably all beg to stay!
Not in the slightest bit. The politics around N.Korea involves a series of threats by N.Korea, followed by sanctions from the rest of the world. At a certain point The US (or someone else) will offer humanitarian aid if they back down, they receive food and medical supplies for free and back down. This way their leader Kim Jung looks like a hero to his people by standing up to the "evil westerners" and feeding his people with the aid they get. This has been going on since the end of the Korean conflict in 1953, since he's threatening with nukes now I'm sure they're going to insist on more aid then normal. They may not be smart, but they're smart enough to know that we'd wipe them off the map if they ever tried anything.
I just read a really good book, fiction, about a guy who lives in North Korea. It's called "The Orphan Master's Son," by Adam Johnson. If you're interested in understanding what life is like in that paranoid and dysfunctional country, read that book. I couldn't put it down. If anyone on Ask reads it, let's talk about it here.
North Korea is making enough noise to make the US beef up there defense on the West Coast I guess it's better to be safe then sorry. We all know we can make a parking lot out of North Korea but if one missile hits the US it would be to late to change that destruction

If a 10 year old had a gun pointed at you, would you be concerned? And so should we. Personally, I think we need to shut his mouth up, permanently. It will be a very fast war for sure haha, but none the less, he is a thorn.
Not directly. But if they attacked South Korea, then we got involved, then China got involved on North Koreas' behalf..... But seriously China is going to own the world economically, so they're probably not interested.
what you must think about is, if we were to attack north Korea are the Chinese and Russian going to do anything. and if they do it might be in manpower or weapons. however the main reason why the USA is not acting is because if the Chinese do react they will stop all glob shipping bring the world on its knees because we relay on china too much!
If you go by all the hype and hollywood movies you would think that USA would beat North Korea blindfolded. In reality they have been fighting wars against IRAQ and Afghans for like 10 years now! USA BARK is bigger than their BITE! Maybe closer than you think and if china or russia become involved it will be gloves off everyone! :(
I think anytime that you are threatened by anyone there should be a concern, especially with the commander in chief that we currently have. But not with the outcome. America would destroy them before they got started. Plus we would starve them to death by cutting off their aid completely.
I absolutely think we should watch them but how are we so sure we will destroy them in a war? Arent we still fighting in the middle east to a bunch of people who live in clay houses and wear robes. If they ever launched a missile towards the US I think it has a 1% chance of actually getting through. We have a lot of safe guards in place to prevent this from happening from and country not just N Korea.
North Korea has been a bigger threat to this country and for as long a time a Iraq. Why was Iraq invaded and not North Korea? Because the people and its government are in a desperate state, like Germany was after world war 1. They have nuclear weapons and are not afraid to shoot if invaded. They are a serious threat. I think that while condemning their nuclear ambitions we should continue to provide humanitarian aid and lift trade restrictions so that things don't get too desperate there.
No. The United States is merely North Korea's devil. As long as we are over there, reminding them of our presence they will keep harping about how evil we are. The USA is nothing more than a scapegoat to them. Albeit a very dangerous scapegoat with more firepower than North Korea can super-impose onto a state-sponsored news' broadcast footage (and they know this) highlighting how invincible North Korea is. It's a troop/countrymen moral thing. They have no intention of attacking the US. They want to retake South Korea, not destroy it. Japan won't let a Nuclear strike go unpunished. China doesn't even like North Korea at this point (Their relationship is "Better the devil I know..." instead of "BFF") and Russia has its own problems; they doesn't seem to care for North Korea any more than China. The only idiots waiting for this to go bad is the fools in North Korea who WANT a war and the fools in DC who also WANT a war. Thankfully their voices are still a minority.
Yes definiately however now they want to show off their new toys and demand respect though threats and immaturely stomping their feet of what they want to do to south korea to gain attention.I feel our Eagle needs to watch them closely for the future and the missles were putting in calif is the right thingLASTLY if they ever dared to attack US we should take all their toys away from them and be in control from them ever makeing new ones in the future since we are approaching the nuclear age.
Very few people on this survey seem concerned with the intentions of the DPRK. However, how can anyone be so sure that the US has nothing to worry about? I mean, this is a country who has a "Great Leader" who likes to spend time noodling with Dennis Rodman. Am I the only one who finds this perhaps a bit disturbing?

Usually those who talk the nastiest talk are those who have the least crap to follow through with their talk. And what ever pollution they fire upon somewhere, that pollution will wind-up back to their area one day.
yes very much so but the problem for north korea is that they have no nuclear weapons that can travel the distance to hit america so the best bet is that they will invade in a few yrs or so they actually come fourth in military strength they put majority of their government funding to military and the are actaully the top in technology so they may have weapons we may never have seen
What I'm concerned is that the U.S. might pull a stupid move and attack North Korea, unleashing a chain of events that will spread to all the countries and create an inevitable World War 3, which will have the skies filled with nuclear missiles flying towards North Korea and soon, instead of rainbows, I'll see mushroom clouds, later, the area will get pelted with nuclear radiation and we'll all die, or Fallout 3 will start.
