It allows you to keep track of people's content that you like. In otherwords if you find someone who you like reading what they say, follow them then you can go to Connections on the left side of your screen ( or http://www.ask.com/answers/browse?seltype=following ) and keep up with their content every time you come on Ask. :)
You may run across someone who lives in the same area or city you live in. That happened to me. I think it's cool to see people on ask from all over the world. The other night there was someone from Australia.
you become aware of people having similar mindsets as you ( if people follow you because of your answers and not because you are friends or some other reason) and you can know how many people have been genuinely satisfied by your answers.................otherwise theblackjesus20 is right.
