how do I stop myself from taking midnight jogs?

I always go take a mile run at midnight. mostly because its boring to sleep. but now I cant seem to stop running on a daily basis at night and want to stop

Sounds like a really good habit... why stop? If you want to stop.... then stop. Just make a mental note to NOT go jogging.
You do have the ability to not do something if you dont want to, dont you?

I wasn't saying to use drugs. I only meant that when necessary they work. I have used them to sleep when I was having trouble because I wasn't tired but had to sleep. It's not a long term solution just a temporary fix to a (hopefully) temporary problem.

Do something else that you like to distract yourself or take sleeping pills.

It's not a bad habit, I work 2nd shift and workout with weights from 1am until 2:30am. If you truly want to stop, you will.

Sleep. Either tire yourself out a different way or try sleeping pill(s) in the recommend dose until you can fall asleep on your own without them.
