If you're looking for features and easy mobility, I suggest you go with the iphone. If you want almost computer standard usability, then I suggest the tablet. If you're thinking about buying an ipod with those alternatives, I suggest you eene meene minie moe between the iphone and tablet cause an ipod doesn't compare enough to have a fair chance. :)
What do you want to do with it? a tablet is nice, if you go with an Asus with the attached keyboard, you can get 15+ hours out of it per charge. IPhone, if you want all in one. Personally i am an Android fan, but apple devices are nice for the novice. I carry an android phone, tablet as well as a laptop. But i'm also a computer/network engineer. If you want diverse functionality, i would recommend an android device. With Apple, you are locked into their app store and approved apps. Android frees you from those limitations.

If you like listening to music, get an iPod, if you want to talk and text, an iPhone, if you want to do school work like typing a paragraph or making a short film, then iPad. Each of them have their own advantage and disadvantages, it's just what you use it for. However, iPhones and iPods are super mobile because of their size, you can't just shove an iPad in your pocket, unless it's an iPad mini, which succeeds in mobility, but not in speed, battery life and storage space, so iPad mini is not recommended. But if you listen to music and text, then iPod, because you can do both of those things on it.
