How can I change a toddler into his day clothes when he doesn't want to?

My nephew was still in his pajama's when my brothers wife dropped him off. And I've found his day clothes but he doesn't want to change into them. I successfully got his pants off, but now he's running and screaming around my house with no pants on. *sigh* How can I change his clothes?

Make it fun! Time him/her and make it a race! Or let them mix and match their clothes...or better yet let them pick their own clothes to wear!

Reward him with something sweet like extra sugar in his cereal or just by giving him a new toy each time he puts them on.

Let him or her pick the clothes. Options usually work on most things. Kids will argue about everything but if they make the choice then they can just accept it.

Try sitting him in your lap and singing to him. Or lay him on his back on the floor, give him a toy to occupy him and dress him

Clearly a typo. He meant sit on his lap.

Try asking him nicely, bribing him, and if all else fails just sit him in your lap and make him hold still while you put his pants on.

Chase him around 'til he tired himself out, then get him comfortable and let him watch T.V while you dress him.

How old is he? If he is under 3 and you aren't going anywhere, give him his pj bottoms back and let him be. It isn't hurting anyone. If he is over 3 you may be able to reason a bit with him. Tell him that big boys wear clothes other than pj's. Personally, if you aren't going anywhere important, let him be and take pictures. When he is older you can have fun embarrassing him. They grow up way too fast.

You ignore him until he sees you have no interest in him. When he comes to you for attention you tell him you do not pay attention to children that aren't dressed and cooperative any when he is ready to be that way at your house you will speak to him. Then read a book. He will come around
