I saw an add for a Ipad with Retina Display how can you tell if its an Ipad 3 or 4. The dimensions are listed as 9x7, so it's not the mini.

I know the 3 came out about this time in 2012, but was discontinued. Someone might be trying to unload one though

The iPad 5 has a lightning charger. It's the new smaller charging port. The iPad 3 still had the older larger one.
