You can speed up your metabolism by speeding up your heart rate. That means you have to exercise. Having more muscle than fat also helps... Your body will continue to burn fat if you have more muscle. It really helps to eat healthy foods too. Also, foods that are spicy have been known to help too.... and NO that doesnt give you permission to run to Taco Bell.
To speed up your metabolic rate you have to drink coffee,go for walk, eat more carbs. Muscle tissue is metabolically active and uses energy even at rest, whereas adipose tissue does nothing at rest. Muscles move, requiring energy, while fat is just storage. So increasing muscle tone, through exercise such as weight-lifting, will dramatically increase your metabolism.
Build and tone up your muscles with weight training. And. cardio exercise is also necessary. Muscle burns more calories than fat (even when resting). No magic bullets. Determination, proper diet, exercise and fresh air. Stop eating sweets except for special occasions and holidays and then keep it to a limit. Eat high fiber, stop using chemical sweeteners and keep hydrated as your body will mistake lack of water for lack of food. Eat sensible meals and have healthy snacks in between meals (like an apple, a small portion of nuts, one slice of cheese, etc.).
i started drinking Arizona diet green tea with ginseng last summer( not to lose weight but just because i like icetea) well, i lost so much weight without trying , no changes in my diet expect that green tea with ginseng. i drank about a gallon a day. so that's quite a bit. .friends who wanted to lose weight started asking how i lost it, they started drinking the tea and lost some weight too!i think the green tea and ginseng speed up the metabolism
Breakfast foods that speed, milk, oatmeal, whole grain cereal, and eggs. Drinks that speed, ice cold water, (or add crystal light to it) green tea, coffee, celery juice, and carrot juice. Eat lean meat with protein. Beef, pork, turkey, chicken, fish, salmon, tuna, or shrimp and sardines. And also these, raw almonds, asparagus, all berries, (especially blueberries) cabbage, celery, carrots, spinach, greens, broccoli, steamed vegetables, lemon, limes, oranges, grapefruit, apples, tomato, avocado, cucumbers or pickles, sprouts, oats, whole grains, fiber, cinnamon, garlic, curry, jalapeno peppers, hot peppers, cayenne peppers, habanero peppers, yogurt, cheese, olive oil, canola oil, beans, soup, (add some spices to it) and also capsiplex tablets. Foods that are bad are, alcohol, fatty meats and foods that are high in fat, dessert foods, and also smoking. Also, instead of eating three large of meals in a day, eat five or six small meals. Eating three large meals a day, will decrease metabolism. Eat a small breakfast, then a snack, eat a small lunch, then a snack, eat a small dinner, then a small dessert. But not much. Also do aerobic excercises.
The best way to dramatically increase your metabolism is cold exposure. Elite swimmers burn 9000-12000 kcal per day because the body has to use huge amounts of energy to keep warm. I walk around in shorts even at freezing temperatures. The body adapts just like when you're swimming.
