Depends on the state you are in. In Colorado you have to be 10 and above to be charged criminally. So 10-18 years old. They can hold you until you are 23 years old. At 13 you can be charged as a adult!

I thought I was after 10 up to 17

I believe it depends on the State. I can't remember both of their ages and names but there was a case in FL., where 2 brothers, one was named Alex, killed their father. I believe they were 9&10 when they were encouraged by a pedophile to murder the Dad. It was a national story.
