How old do you have to be to be put in juvenile

Depends on the state you are in. In Colorado you have to be 10 and above to be charged criminally. So 10-18 years old. They can hold you until you are 23 years old. At 13 you can be charged as a adult!

I remember learning that they said anyone under 10 cannot understand what they are doing

I believe it depends on the State. I can't remember both of their ages and names but there was a case in FL., where 2 brothers, one was named Alex, killed their father. I believe they were 9&10 when they were encouraged by a pedophile to murder the Dad. It was a national story.
