How do I ask my mom if I can start wearing makeup?

I have tried a lot of different face washes and none of them work, so I want to start wearing a little make up to cover my ugly zits up. How do I approach my mom on the subject?

Make-up will make you age faster and get wrinkles sooner! I didnt start wearing make-up until I was 18. I hated it and didnt even go to prom or dances because of my mother not allowing me to do so. However, now that I am older in my late 20's and almost 30. People still think I am 18 when I get carded for a drink! However, if you really want to try, just ask for mascara, some tinted chapstick...just stay natural as much as you can and buy moisterizers for your skin. Take care of your skin before you wear make-up. Drink plenty of water too!

Honestly makeup will irritate your skin even more. And with acne, foundation can look extremely cakey and stand out, but maybe tell her you would only wear concealer on your trouble spots and light face powder. I find that best on my "insecure" days. Make sure you wash t off very thoroughly and moisturize with some type of lotion. Try not to touch your face a lot, it will definitely helped. This is all coming from a girl with relatively clear skin that used to have problems. Hope this helped :)

That's totally what I meant to wear if I asked. Greta minds think a like. Do you have any cleansing tips? Like my face has blemishes all over and i wash my face two times a day!

Did you start out washing it twice a day? If so, you are drying out your skin! Give your skin a break for a day and then start slowly adding up what you do. For example, wash it once a day for a week and then add a second time a day. Also, I don't necessarily wash my face every day but on the days I don't, I moisturize very well. But that is just me. Ask your mom if she had problems like that when we was younger and ask her what she did, because her genes are much more similar to yours than mine are :) I'm glad I could help

You helped a lot, but she's the one who told me to wash my face 2x a day.

Haha well I'm glad I helped. But drying out your skin isn't good so try to use a more skin sensitive product

Just ask, but be minimal about it. Don't wear too much! And don't wear it behind her back, that could causs trouble. just ask her, she should be able to understand .

She will because she's the one who has to buy all of the face washes I use.

Exactly and makeup comes off easily with a cleanser. This will get the makeup out of your pores so you can minimize pimples/break outs.

Just try asking her. I hope it goes well! Just don't over do it !

I asked her, I was using this product that was pimple medicine that was also makeup and I ran out. She agreed to go buy me more though :)

That's good, just remember parents are understanding for the most part, just talk to them.
