How to identify the primary hard drive in a laptop (Dell Inspiron 15R special Edition) (READ BELOW!)
I went on this quest to determine whether my computer's drive is a HDD or SSD, after seeing a 5.9 rating on my window's experience index which became the lowest. After opening the Device Manager and clicking on the properties of my "C" drive, I got even more confused. Under C drive alone, I have 2 drives. One of it is seemingly a HDD and the other an SSD. The names as follow : WDC WD10JPVT (HDD) and a Samsung SSD PM8 SCSI (SSD). I don't understand how C drive alone can actually be 2 drives together? I thought each drive would have it's own letter and name? So does my laptop function on the basis of a HDD? or does it work on an SSD? My storage in the computer (C drive) is 1TB. If I'm working on the HDD, is it possible to switch to the installed SSD? Or is it something else? Ultimately I wanna know what's going on and whether I can tweak the machine to get a better experience index rating and hopefully, better performance.
