2WD is 'two wheel drive" and it means only one pair of tires, front or back, power the car. Many smaller economy cars use front wheel 2WD, bigger cars tend to use rear wheel 2WD. RWD is "rear wheel drive", the type of 2WD where the rear wheels are used.

On rear wheel drive usually only the right rear spins unless it has posi traction then both rear wheels spin. On two wheel drive like on most four wheel drive trucks that are not in four wheel then the front left and the right rear spin
