Is cat poo in vegetable gardens harmful to humans when when we ingest the vegetables

Report as

Yes. Cat feces should not be a compost in your vegetable garden. I read an article that it can also be harmful to humans and cause injury from handling litter boxes, etc. I have a few cats as well as rescue abandoned and abused cats and kittens. There is some type of bacteria in their feces which causes this. This does not mean cats are sick or have bacterial infections.

Time to replace dirt and plants, I guess. Lol

You do not need to dig up your entire vegetable garden, this would be sad. Wash your vegetable very well, unless, of course, your garden was used as a daily litter box, so to speak. I gave my opinion based on my own knowledge. Perhaps google "what are the dangers of cat feces in a vegetable garden"? Good luck!

Actually any animal that eats meat produces feces that 'can be' harmful to humans due to the bacteria it may contain.

It's ok to use cow manure once it has been composted (for instance) .. but not dog or cat or even human waste is a good idea to spead on consumable crops.
