Why do people use Ask instead of Google, that's where 99/100 people on here get their "sophisticated" answers that are like 10 sentences

long.

Report as

Because ASK is opinion based. When you ask a question you get multiple answers, you read through them and decide which one works the best for you. The best thing about this site is that no two people think alike.

On Google you are just linked to websites that might not have your answer. And on Ask you're talking to people with experience. And a lot of times Ask is more straightforward with the answers.

Because people look up the damn answer on google. You really think people on here have expirience?

@tomlinson2182, Yes I do think people here have experience. Have you seen the questions about how to stop cutting? I have experience in that, and hundreds of other answerers do. Have you seen the questions about what to do when your friend likes your crush? Lots of people have experience. Have you seen the questions about how to propose to your girlfriend? Lots of people know how. Have you seen the questions on South Korea? I have experience in that, and some others here do too. You can't get these kind of answers from Google. You get my point yet?

Minji hit the nail right on the head! "Ask" is more personable, yes you can get answers from Google, and don't get it twisted I love Google...however, Ask has people that speak directly to me, addressing MY exact problem, giving me solutions, that I've obviously missed. I really appreciate that! I love ASK! Oh and I didn't get this answer from Google...all me :-)

Ask has interesting, contrary characters like you on site ;
along with people who do actually have some experience and yet know enough to research various sites to get the answers which best suit a question.

Most of my answers (and other people's too) are not found on Google. I'm not sure where you came up with that :T Google sends you to a million websites and you can't always be sure if they're reliable.

You can get people's opinions and personal thoughts that may be more helpful of an answer.

I often prefer Ask.com because real people are answering me, and they can probably simplify things for me. At least, I hope they're real.

People can also offer first-hand experience, and they might've learned something through that instead of a website.
