You can only tell if the pain you are having is Meningitis by going to the doctor for some tests. Meningitis is usually caused by viral infections that usually cause inflammation of the membranes. You can check out http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/meningitis/DS00118 for more information or see a doctor.
You have to have a spinal tap to diagnose meningitis. Start by talking to your doctor and determining whether you have been exposed to it. Spinal taps are horrible and have lasting side effects so if you don't need one don't get one. Good luck.
If you cannot bring your chin down to your chest(bend your neck down). If you cannot.... Thats a good initial test! If you can.... Most likely not. But know this...... Its not a good thing! Best go check it out!
Meningitis is rare and every headache is not meningitis. Severe headache, esp near the spine, high fever and extreme pain moving head might be a good reason to see a doc ASAP. Most likely you just have a migraine tho.
