Just an example: People need to eat, and it is in the same way WITH animals. Is "with" right, or should I say "at" or what?
With, and get rid of "in".
It would be with, but I would try to reword the sentence if I could. Such as : Animals, like people, need to eat. I understand you are just giving an example, but that sentence seems unnecessarily wordy, in my opinion :)
with... haha sometimes i get that way whit IS and ARE... like: The whales are close to extinction vs. the whale is close to extinction
