Malcolm X was a prominent and influential figure in the civil rights movement. Unlike Dr. King, Malcolm X had a lot of anger and bitterness towards white people, understandably so considering his past, and didn't necessarily advocate peaceful resistance as Dr. King did, at least early on. Later he seems to have had a change of heart and softened in his views of white people. I recommend watching the movie "Malcolm X" with Denzel Washington. It's a great movie and will give you a fairly decent understanding of the historical man.
