How do I stop puppy from biting?

Report as

Instead of hitting the pup, redirect him by giving him something else to chew on such as a toy. When he doesn't chew on you pet him or give him a treat as a reward

You don't have to beat a dog to train
Them, is that how you were trained ?
By getting hit every time you did something wrong ?

Never hurt the poor puppy

I totally agree with Sheldon. Never hit your dog. He will begin to fear you. Flatten your hand. It makes it difficult to bite that way. Then say No firmly and don't give him any attention. Make sure he does have toys to chew on.

Make a loud noise and give him something else to chew on. He doesn't understand hitting.

Give it things to chew on, and don't confuse it by saying chew on old shoes, and don't chew on new shoes
