Why is my cat scared of my new fridge?

The old one was white and the freezer was on the top, and he actually tried to clim in there when I opened the door. The new fridge is bigger and black and has a bottom pull out freezer. He runs away every time i open the door. Why is he scared of this one?

Cats hear things outside the range of what humans can hear. Perhaps your new refrigerator makes sounds that upset your cat. Also, the new fridge probably smells of plastics and adhesives and other stuff cats don't like. Your old one probably lost those smells years ago.

Just give him time he isn't used to it
