Why is the moon so important to us?

Report as

It keeps us in a stable rotation so we don't "wobble" uncontrollably, erratic weather all the way to an environment we could not survive or let alone begin life. Without the Moon we would not be here.

So the moon is like a large ladies girdle..... it keeps things from being all wiggly giggly. I wonder if that's how the phrase full moon got started for showing a big ol bare booty??? There has to be a connection there some where???

It is believed that the moons magnetic field affects the water in our body system just like it does to the waves in the ocean=)

Isnt that the truth. I watch the calendar and always "know" when the full moon or new moon is nearing. I get sick.

Yes i think it is true too alot of people get affected i read a study that said that alot of crimes are committed during the full moon.

Psychologically it does....you have the beauty and the awe factor. In reality a fat man standing next to you has more pull with his gravity then the moon does on you.

Its not. A doctor is the one who talked about it to me. Watch how u feel a few days before the full and new moon. See if notice a difference. It does cause fluid retension and a flare up for me. The last time we had a "supet" moon, a few months ago, it was very beautiful and everyone was talking about it and taking pics. I s so sick with dizziness. The scale goes up a few days before the moon, and i get sick. It stinks for me. The average person feels nothing. But...if u noticeand pay attention to your body ...u may notice. It has to do with the negative and positive ions in the air. Google it and read about it.

I'm an astronomer..I really don't need to Google it. It really doesn't, its an old myth. If anything people get emotionally and physically ill from the Sun. Especially in winter time when we lack certain vitamins coming from the Sun...people call it seasonal depression.
Report as
Well...be glad u dont have my condition and be highly effected by the moon. Its clock work for me.
Report as
And....seriously pay attention to yourself. Its the ions. The cranky feeling is more subtle but u may notice. :)

Nope not at all!! :)

Yeah...that time of the month effects me, too. If my pms and full/new moon happens at the same time....im in trouble. I really retain fluid giving me a flare up. But...i get sick when its the full moon and its not my cycle. The scale literally goes up and i get a flare up. A few days later, i pee it all out. I feel like im the only one who retains fluid with the moon. Lol my body sucks! I have meniers diease and its caused by excess fluid and sodium in the inner ear. I also take high dosage of diuretic daily. But, despite, that,, i still get sick around the moon. Sigh....

Your lucky, tatoo. :)

Haha!! Nooooo....I don't believe in luck.

Gives us light. And causes crankiness. For me, it makes me retain fluid, which makes me have a flare up of my disease i have. I just love the moon. Lol
