My little sister was 14 and when she was dating a 17 year old. honestly if you meet him, and he seems like a good guy, why not? the guy my sister dating i was on the fence about because of age, but he was a really nice guy and i could tell he really liked her. i think he liked her more then she liked him. They are still together, two years now.
You can date, you just can't have sexual contact. You must be 16 and older in Mississippi or you can be prosecuted for statutory rape and labeled as a sex offender. That is not a good thing to have on a college application, resume, mug shot or job app either. Here is a link to age of consent laws in all states if you are interested
maybe i am wrong, old, old-fashioned, or just "not with it" but where are mom and dad in this???!!! there is no way i would have ever let my 14 year old date- let alone date an 18 year old. nor would i ever let my 17-18 year old date a 14 year old. - i knew most of what my kids tried to get away with and stopped a lot of the bologna, and was always having talks with my kids about what could happen in these kinds of situations. i knew who my kids hung out with, i "ruined their life" several times by showing up out of the blue at a friend's house, school, the mall, etc. just to check that my kids were doing what they said they were. yup, i stalked my kids! but they are good kids, and generally (mostly) do the right thing. i am very proud of the young adults my children have grown into. - i really do not get this. - again i ask where are the parents?
