A dive needed ultrasound.

I went doctors after 4months missed period negative tests theve sent me for an ultrasound and said my tummy feels full what does this mean

You know how it works, pregnancy, right? Once one of your eggs is fertilized a hormone is secreted and shows up in urine - that's how home pregnancy tests work - but they're not as accurate as a blood test (they don't kill rabbits anymore) at your GYN/OB MD's office. You should have been counseled on possible causes of missed periods besides pregnancy by your doctor. Did you get a full exam? A PAP smear? Cervical inspection? Examination of the uterus and endometrium, depending where you are in your cycle? Any exposure to drugs or pathogens? Any pain or discomfort? All of this should have been assessed by your doctor.

Had all exams and been back and forth from doctors had blood test everything normal I got informed today that they don't test for pregnancy anymore in the blood
Report as
Blood and urine pregnancy tests look for human chorionic gonadotropin - a hormone produced after fertilization. The test becomes more accurate 48 hours after conception - if one occurred. A more decisive test is made by an Obstetrics doctor using ultrasonography.

11 days ago you said maybe 2 months pregnant. You've been to the doctor. So he must have done blood test. A full tummy can mean you're constipated.

If you were 4 months pregnant, your doctor would also know.

It could also be fibroids on your uterus.

And what's that? I'm only 17 so all this words confuse me

It's just additional growth on your uterus. They are benign but can cause pain! Abnormal period, and sometimes can wreak havock and prevent pregnancies. You definitely ned to have a pelvic ultrasound.

I'm waiting for a ultrasound appointment to come. I'm worried though cause I don't know what it is.

Tummy feels full it is not the complete information as per medical term. You are either pregnant or not. Tummy full means two things, might be some fetus or tumor or liver cirrhosis, all confused state. You better see the report completely and see if you are pregnant of almost 16 weeks or not. For early pregnancy or first trimester ultrasonography you should fill your bladder and do sonography so that it is easy for the sonologist to detect if there is any pregnancy or something else.

That is why they are going to do the ultrasound, so they can figure out what is going on and why your tummy feels full. Seems you will know more after the ultrasound.

I know i was just worried about what would happen or what they would look for

Oh I'm sorry. I'm not too sure about that but just try not to worry. Hopefully they find out what is causing the problem and it will be a quick fix.

Hey I seen one of your other questions. The same thing happened to me after I stopped taking the pill. I was on it a long time though. After 2 mo of not starting, I was really bloated and miserable. They ended up giving me a hormone called provera to make me start. They may have to do that to you too.

Thankyou. But as it has been 4months it's quiet scary
