Any advice? :) Thanks! (I know its kinda long, sorry)

Hi! I'm 13, in 8th grade. I absolutely LOVE to sing. My idols are Demi Lovato, Ed Sheeran and Bruno Mars. I took chorus from 1st grade to 4th grade, but i quit to take orchestra (worst mistake ever). I only started to really enjoy singing about one or two years ago. Now i have this crazy, slightly far-fetched dream of becoming a famous singer. My parents are super supportive of everything I do, so i'm sure they would help me out if i told that's what i want, I just need to tell them first. iv never, in my entire life sang anything for anyone... I'm a pretty shy person, and i'm nervous i wont be good, and make a fool of myself. I usually sing when my parents are out. But my mom has heard me when i was singing loud and proud at home when she came home early and i didn't hear her walk in ._. she told me I have a great voice and should consider voice lessons, or maybe American Idol/X-Factor, but again, i'm too shy... Any suggestions/advise as to what i should do? Thanks a bunch!! :) :)

Yeah you should totally become a singer! Thats my dream too. And basicly if you play any instrumnets then thats great. If you dont then thats fine too. But really try to sing in front of other people. I dont like singing in front of other people either. The only difference between you and me is that your parents support you. Mine dont. So if they support you you are extra lucky! But yeah try and sing in front of other people and get their honest opinion on your voice.

You should consider your mom's suggestion of getting voice lessons. This would enhance your singing skills. Once you have established a solid voice, you can start to work on dealing with being shy.

pick out a small chorus of one of your favorite songs, and have someone that you really, really trust and feel comfortable with, maybe you mom, since she has already heard you sing, and just sing away... you will eventually overcome your shyness, and if its something you really love and your parents support you 100% then go for it....Im sure who ever you go to for those voice lessons, they can probably help you overcome your shyness

Start small. Join a choir and sing solos in front of small crowds and work your way up. That is the best way of learning to not be nervous.

you could maybe get your friends and family together and sing for them even if your shy but at least they are people you know or you can video tape yourself singing and watch it or have your parents watch it but after that try out for American idol or X factor and if you do x factor soon Demi might still me a judge but i dont know and if you become famous thank me haha but good luck in becoming a singer and i mean this seriously
