The medication your registered physician has prescribed is regarded as "best practice" by the Medical Council - it's safety and efficacy have been approved and certified by the American Food and Drug Administration. OFFICIALLY it is safe for the purpose prescribed. BUT in my Clinic the idea of using psychotropic drugs for cognitive function is appalling. There are many, many safer alternatives available. BUT if you are under 16, then you have a legal right to be treated by a registered doctor and you are stuck with whatever drugs they dish out for you. All you can do is report back any adverse responses and keep your fingers tightly crossed for good luck!!
