Jehovah's witnesses say that Philosophy, Christmas, birthday celebrations, and many other things are evil based upon the proposition presented by their faith saying that they cannot learn other subjects, and are a sola scriptura religion.
I don't believe that is part of their official teachings.
I know a few JWs, and discuss philosophy with them regularly.
I had a direct experience where a very polite woman visited my home (and has done so for many years) trying to get me to go to her Jehovas Witnes Church.
When I told her I was reading philosophy and showed her the book, she opened her bible? (or religious book) and found a verse that stated something to the fact "Beware the philosophers tongue for which he will weave a web of lies...." blah blah blah....
I found it funny that her "book" had a built-in safety mechanism that tells others not to think openly or challenge authority....

Why do religious leaders prefer to see their followers (victims?) every week? Because messages are judged by recency as much as relevance. Hear the same stuff weekly and eventually you just might believe it.

The creator of the religion was the brother of satanists, so maybe if they had holidays or philosophical stuff they didn't want to relate.

Probably for the same reason many Christians believe the earth is flat or that bats are birds.
Also, we must be aware that it is modern science that has a different classification system than ancient times. To the ancients, creatures such as a bat were considered birds since they categorized all flying animals as birds. If that is the category that they used, then they were correct. It is not an error. It is a difference of categorization procedures. The critic has imposed upon the ancient text a modern system of categorization and then said that the Bible is wrong. Which was pretty par for the course for the desert tribes of the time, but the problem comes in when people claim the bible is 100% literal and inerrant. If it's literal, there is no playing santo a games with interpretation. Can't have it both ways.
As for the bat, the book of Leviticus says that bats are unclean birds and you should not eat them.

Everyone has choices to make, and give their option.
personally I like to answer from the Bible.
One question to ask JW: which Jesus do you worship( they do not worship the Jesus of the NT. they dont believe Jeaus IS GOD! they just think He is/was Michael the ArchAngel.)
Some of their beliefs derive the thinking that holidays(Christmas:is/are pagan -sun moon stars are hung on trees=paganworship. / Easter : pagan = egg/ bunny are derived from god/idol worship)
Personally, i have a tree that is full of memories which i do NOT WORSHIP!
Philosophy probably questions all beliefs!
They are instructed to never question their instructors-leaders.
Acts of the New Testament instructs all believers to search the scriptures daily . For Scripture is for rebuke, counceling, instruction!

If i choose to use that same date to celebrate a birth or a death of ANYONE,that doesnt mean i'm a pagan ! It just happened that Christ WAS NOT born in Dec, and the Christians choose that time ( a Roman holiday) so they could celebrate His birth and not be noticed and persicutes in that day( got it now?)

Celebrating birthdays is pagan in the first place- a Roman custom. The Zhenrews didn't do it. So the whole concept is pagan.
And no- Christmas was not snagged by the Church until the fourth century- when CHRISTIANS were the ones DOING the persecuting. It's a historical fact that your Jesus was grafted on to Saturnalia not to "hide" Christianity but to try and get pagan converts.
The "reason for the season" is actually the winter solstice. Of in the case of Easter (even named for a pagan goddess), the vernal equinox.
JW's don't even believe that Jesus is God, why listen to anything they have to say?
Many fundamentalist sects of the Abrahamic religions discourage asking questions and critical thinking. Possibly because those questions can easily lead to lack of belief and they want to keep the sheep in line.
Philosophy inspires intelligence, intelligence questions interpretation, interpretations become exposed for inaccuracies, inaccuracies sink religion.
Because there Religeon makes them evil tyrannical people and it also makes them so very mentally ill. They don't see the truth of how wonderful philosophy is, because they're gone so far.
Jehovah Witnesses do not teach that - if anything they teach and promote is "free-will." They do not label or judge. However, just like any other taking in life just because one is a Jehovah Witness they may be at a level of spirituality where they need to continue to grow spiritually. Instead of degrading the organization as a whole do your research.
Hebrew 5:14 - But solid food belongs to mature people, to those who through use have their perceptive powers trained to distinguish both right and wrong.
And that scripture about being spiritually feed----pertains to GOD'S Word...... To us it as the benchmark, and a ruler to measure any other false teachings / doctrines .

Well GYM to tell you the truth, it is really up to. If you want to choose to listen to mans philosophies, it's up to the person. It's very nice to see that Jehovah's Witnesses are talking to you about bible scriptures. I just want you to know that if we offended you we are very sorry. I see that philosophy is very dear to you, and it is a touchy subject for you. All we are trying to do is to share scripture with you.
For some of the people on this website, kindness = MAKE HIM A BELIEVER! which, in my eyes, does not constitute kindness...
Forcing beleifs without giving the individual a choice is pretty much coercion. I avoid that at all costs.
