Is it the 4.7 V8? I just did that last week on moms jeep. You'll need a deep well 1 1/16 socket. It's just above the oil filter, take the filter off it will be easier. There's red stops on the plug to prevent it from coming off. Slide the red thing whatever direction ( it will only go one direction) then you can get the clip to let go and unplug it. Remove the old one and put the new one in. DO NOT OVER-TIGHTEN THE NEW ONE. Of you break it cause its just brass, which I did, it will require 2 people to get it out cause you can't be under the hood and under the jeep at the same time. When putting the new one in it will get firm, stop there or you will break it. Put the plug on the new one, slide the red thing back in place and your done. Start the jeep and be sure the oil pressure guage comes up. If it don't come up in about 15-20 seconds shut it off and start looking at replacing the oil pump.
The first step is to locate the oil sending sensor above the oil filter on the motor. Remove the electrical connector at the end of the sending unit. Remove the nut-shaped metal base and insert the new one. Plug the electrical plug at the end of the sending unit to finish off the process. Talk to a mechanic for further clarification on the details.
