Is it bad for cats to eat dairy products?

I was playing on my computer and my 5 month old cat got up on the table and started eating cottage cheese! I looked to see what she was doing and she was just eating it, but I don't know how much she ate. Should I be worried?

She should be OK but dairy foods can upset some cat's stomachs & cause the "runs". Keep an eye out for that tonight. Some cats enjoy a little milk or cheese as a treat, but don't offer it too often. Some of the additives in these foods are not good for them, eg. lactose sugar & salt.

No. I'm pretty sure their mother feeds it to them when they are young.

It is completely safe, as long as she didn't eat the whole thing. If she did, she'll just throw up or have diarrhea.

Cats are naturally lactose intolerant
Contrary to the whole
Cats drink milk thing -
So watch out for constipation
And cat can drink milk
But only on a limited basis -
