Why do cat's have whiskers?
they're sensitive and help them feel and detect changes. one of the main uses is tohelp a cat judge whether or not he'll fit through an opening. cool right? :D
To sense and measure stuff...
They're like fingertips on their face (teehee)- they're used to feel around, measure things, or detect nearby changes in their environment.
so they can tell if they can fit into a space before they climb in it also it helps their balance.
That's the way God made them! They help them feel around and sense their surroundings. They are especially useful for my cat because she's blind.
The same reason guys have whiskers..
Cause they can't hold a razor !!
don't know why do we have opposable thumbs
They are "feelers" to protect the cat's face and head. there are the large whiskers on the cheeks, some above the eyes, and a couple little ones around the mouth/chin.. the same goes for dogs!
