When using third person in a story, can you switch to different character's thoughts, or is that too confusing?
Yes, of course you can, but you have to make it clear to your reader what you are trying to say. Best thing is to write it out, then give it to someone to read and ask them if it is clear.
I always do in the books I publish, the Sysco Series. It can be confusing to some people, but in novels, especially horror and science-fiction, it's a common thing.
Start a new paragraph or chaptet
yeah just write ",thought (name of character) " when u switch to a different character's thought or start a new paragraph
