My dogs vet fractured her jaw while extracting some baby teeth. I paid most but I wanna cancel the rest of the payment. what would you do?

The fracture is all the way through her bottom jaw. I had the amount they quoted me but due to there mistake, the bill had gotten out of control. Even worse I have a miserable doggie.
So I was just wondering if you think I can cancel the check with good conscience?

If the VET broke the jaw... they should be fixing that for free. If the jaw is not misplaced... then it will probably heal just fine on its own. If they have to do anything to your dogs jaw... then THEY should pay for it. Let them know that if they DO NOT take care of it... they will get a call from your attorney.

You'd better confer with an attorney first or the vet could sue you for the remainder of the bill, you'd have to get an attorney either way..no time like the present. Good luck and I'm very sorry to hear about your pup.

Pretty sure you signed a release that frees them of responsibility.

Be professional and attempt to talk it out with the vet.

oh I plan to! I don't want to be in the wrong. But I incurred extra expenses taking her to a different vet also. On top of the original bill doubling in price. I understand your point, it's just frustrating.

You may want to get the advice of an attorney. Some will give a free consultation, and some charge a minimal fee. You never know how your dog will be in the future because of this mistake. If you decide not to pay the remainder of the bill, which you shouldn't have to pay anyway, they may send it to a collection agency, and your credit will be negatively affected. I think it would be good to have some legal advice to help make your decision.

You're welcome. Better to be safe, and protected.
