Can cats learn to mimic human behavior?

My husband and I give Mia (profile picture) a lot of kisses. lately she seems to be trying to give us kisses by putting her mouth/nose area on our lips. is this possible or is it an instinct?

Cats have small scent glands under the chin, and when they become fond of you, they want to rub that scent on you. Happily the scene is so slight that we can't notice it, but your cat can and it pleases her to mark you as "hers." This is also what the rubbing against your legs when you are standing up is about; you will notice that each "rub" starts with their chin, then extends down the side of their body.
You can may have taken you and your husband's "kisses" as marking her with your scent, so she began returning the action.

She is being part of your pack and doing what you taught her as a social greeting. Better that than sniffing butts or hissing.

Yes. If you "paw" you hand toward their paws, and toward them, they will paw their paws back at you. They also will paw you when wanting attention, just as you rub their head and back.

It's like when you train a dog...What you teach them or treat them, they'll probably do the same to you...

Kissing you, yes, probably. Your cat most likely loves the attention and affection and tries to get more of it by mimicking you. Just how much is coming from what you're doing is hard to know. But they are learning new things about animal behavior every day!
