No... it is not bad and will cause absolutely NO damage. The popping sound comes from the synovial fluid being forced out of the joints. It refills in just a few short moments. There has never been a lick of proof that it causes any damage, long term or short term.
It is an old wives tale that it will make your knuckles grow huge. I have cracked mine since a teen and they look normal. And I am old enough to be your grandmother! If I had a kid really young at least!
No, it is simply an air pocket leaving your knuckles, and causes ZERO damage to the joints. Mine fingers actually won't move without being cracked, because they have been broken so many times that the air pockets can immobilize them. Besides, if cracking bones was bad, wouldn't chiropractors be out of business?
i told my biology about this and she said that it will not cause arthritis, it just will make your joints bigger, but will not cause any damage. Don't worry your not alone I been cracking since i was 10 and im fine :) now im 15.
Yes, it causes arthritis. I use to too, then I woke up one day and I couldn't bend my fingers, I had to have them all broken and reset. Now I am on anti-inflammatory medication for the rest of my life.and I'm only 24.
