Sometimes yes. I've fallen asleep watching a movie before, and woken up thinking "WHY did I dream that?". Then after thinking about the movie I was watching, it made sense.

You can... but not always. You dream about what is on your mind, whether it is conscious or subconscious.

Good intellect. What's your education?
Report as
High school with some technical school. I am but a lowly pea brain.
Report as
You speak with the intellect of a mature adult!
Report as
I am a mature adult. I dont have formal education but I read. I study things that interest me and I have the internet at my disposal to find out just about anything I could want to know. I have also never been afraid to ask questions from people that have more knowledge than I do. I was in charge of an Emergency Room when I was in the Air Force and now I am a truck driver. It really pays to continue ones education.

Sometimes. I had a roommate that had an alarm that had a steady beep. He was dreaming he was in the hospital and it was a heart monitor. That alarm went off for what seemed forever. I finally threw a stuffed animal at him. He had been dreaming that the oise wouldn't stop.

Gator, if you don't mind my asking, are male or female?
Report as
...I mean you.
Report as
Female.
Report as
I see. I know it's not my business but I didn't know females were allowed to be roommates with males.

We weren't in a dorm. I have a couple of guys for roommates. They don't borrow your clothes and keep the creepers stay away. They weren't the best at doing dishes, but hey, no one is perfect.

From a neuroscience POV I think some people do sometimes dream what they hear. Neanderthal has a good explanation.

I know that when I have to use the bathroom in the middle of the night, I usually dream like I have to go in my dream.

I do this all the time, had to stop falling asleep with the TV on because I was dreaming I was on Gilligan's Island trying to find a Kentucky Fried Chicken and the JG Wentworth Opera Singers were on the boat...yeah... anyway I think it depends a lot on how deeply you sleep, sometimes I don't hear anything when I sleep, sometimes I hear everything.

I have, when I was little I used to sleep with my T.V. on and i would slowly wake up but I'd be lucid dreaming and I'd hear the T.V. sounds so they'd also be in my dreams, but with a different picture than on the T.V.
