Without the holy Spirit one does not accept the things that come from the Spirit of God, but considers them foolishness,

Do we need the Holy Spirit to truly find God ?

Report as

Of all the gifts given to mankind by God, there is none greater than the presence of the Holy Spirit. The Spirit has many functions, roles, and activities. First, He does a work in the hearts of all people everywhere. Jesus told the disciples that He would send the Spirit into the world to "convict the world of guilt in regard to sin and righteousness and judgment" (John 16:7-11). Everyone has a "God consciousness," whether or not they admit it. The Spirit applies the truths of God to minds of men to convince them by fair and sufficient arguments that they are sinners. Responding to that conviction brings men to salvation.

When the Holy Spirit convicts people of their sin, He represents the righteous judgment of God (Hebrews 4:12). There is no appeal of this verdict. The Holy Spirit not only convicts people of sin, but He also brings them to repentance (Acts 17:30; Luke 13:5). The Holy Spirit brings to light our relationship to God. The convicting power of the Holy Spirit opens our eyes to our sin and opens our hearts to receive His grace (Ephesians 2:8).

Deb001 is actually quoting what God himself said in the Bible at 1 Corinthians 2:14-16

(1 Corinthians 2:14-16) 14?But a physical man does not receive the things of the spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; and he cannot get to know [them], because they are examined spiritually. 15?However, the spiritual man examines indeed all things, but he himself is not examined by any man. 16?For “who has come to know the mind of Jehovah, that he may instruct him?” But we do have the mind of Christ.

Here the creator points out what many do not accept what the Bible really teaches since to them, the way the creator is doing things doesn't is not the solution. Thus they see his was as being foolish. Very lovingly the creator helps people to see why his way is truly best as noted below.

(1 Corinthians 3:18, 19) 18?Let no one be seducing himself: If anyone among YOU thinks he is wise in this system of things, let him become a fool, that he may become wise. 19?For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God; .?.?.

No, we receive the Holy Spirit in time after finding God. It just helps us understand and communicate with God.

Luke 19:10
10 For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost.
I THINK GOD SEEKS US TO SAVE US BUT WE CHOOSE IF WE WILL LET HIM SAVE US OR IF WE WANT TO REJECT HIM AND DO THINGS OUR WAY.

To me the Holy Spirit confirms the truth of things. When we ask in prayer it is through the Holy Spirit that we are answered. The spirit brings peace and clarity of understanding.
It is possible to believe in anything without it being confirmed by the spirit, but it is through spiritual confirmation that our testimony of Christ grows and is assured.

IF you are a believer, the Holy Spirit comes into you the second you ask forgiveness/and ask Jesus to be Lord in your life!
THEN the Holy Spirit leads us in our New-life in Christ and interceeds for us in prayer!
IF you are not a believer..... Then God is still seeking you to come to Him!

The Holy Ghost was made up by early Christians who thought the number 3 was superior to the number 2.

This human species LOVES stories. Anything not in story form -- say science -- will be much more difficult to pass on. It's an opinion (based on research), albeit not a final one.

Jesus promised that God?s Holy Spirit would satisfy the thirst, or deepest longings, of all who believe in Jesus Christ. However, many Christians do not understand the Holy Spirit or how to experience Him in their daily lives.

God has given us His Spirit so that we can experience intimacy with Him and enjoy all He has for us. The Holy Spirit is the source of our deepest satisfaction.

The Holy Spirit is God?s permanent presence with us. (John 14:16, 17)
The Holy Spirit enables us to understand and experience all God has given us. (1 Corinthians 2:12).

The Holy Spirit enables us to experience many things:

A genuine new spiritual life (John 3:1?8)
The assurance of being a child of God (Romans 8:15, 16)
The infinite love of God (Romans 5:5; Ephesians 3:18, 19).
