umm it all depends what you are doing on the computer lets not forget how many job today have to do with being on a computer all day and there hours can range any where from 8 - 12 hour days 5 days a week or more
no thats not true, you people think that being on technology is bad, its not, its social (dont give me the you need to be social bs bc your being social now) it doesnt ruin eye site ( the eye glasses companys, contacts, lasic surgery, all are bad, they are suppost to cure them but your eyes become too dependent on them to relax, they just are tryin to get money) there is no such thing as addiction to it, its called curiosity, i garentee that 75% of people who use any search engine to find stuff and answers, learn from it because they want to know about things, plus all of the older people dissagreeing with me let me put it in terms you can understand, hit me with your best shot at trying to change facts, face it you want to move foward, why keep it from us, tech is moving forward, you on the other hand are sure to be holding children, and teens back, if you have anything else to say about 'too much tech (no such thing)' thin go ahead i will make another long answer that actually backs its facts up unlike yours.
I wouldn't be on for more than an hour and a half at a time. The computer isn't bad, but if you sit there so long your eyes burn... well, that's not good. I take breaks to go do something else for a while. Remember, you don't want to waste your entire life on the computer!
If I may... I work on the computer, play on the computer. and occasionally socialize on the computer. All together I spend about 6-12 hours on workdays, The weekend has variables but I can guarantee at least 24 hours over 2 days,
If you're a student... it's up to your parents. So long as it's not in the way of your studies. If you're an adult... by all means! So long as you contribute to society and not leach off of taxes, you should be able to do anything that comes fun to you.
Honestly, two hours would drive people mad. Believe it or not, people need technology more than you know because without it, people would lose jobs, reports would fail, everything would be harder. 1-4 hours would probably be the time for an average school student a NIGHT doing his project, report, etc. For someone who works, probably 5-10 hours (depending on your job.) But, people who are on the computer,(for other reasons than work) for more than 5-6 hours is not addicted, but it can become a habit, a bad habit.
Well, I think get off the computer when you feel your eyes bad have a headache and things like that, I belive 1-5 hours is the limit! its like staring at a turned on lightbulb for a lot of time! so it can also damage your eyes, my uncle wears glasses for being on his computer to long and now he regrets it!, :) people please dont judge me for my anser hoped this helped
If you spend too much time on the computer, your eyes could take strain. You would need to rest your eyes for thirty minutes after every hour to two hours on the computer. That way your eyes don't get fuzzy and you won't have sore eyes. Plus your eye sight won't be as bad as some people who stay on the computer with out any breaks.
For any reason, one can use computer hour after hour, but the main thing is after every one hour one should stop the work for 5 minutes and in this time for relaxation, he/she just close his/her eyes. And it will not only be helpful for their eyes but also for the back portion of neck and waist. Because, for long time using a computer, a pain develops in the back portion of neck and waist. And they can get the relief from those pain also.
Depends. If your eyes are hurting and your fingers are sore from typing, you know you've had enough. But you shouldn't reach that point to determine if you've had enough either, 3-4 hours sounds good to me.
