For a 15 yr. old thats actually above national average so you don't have anything to worry about.

Yup so stop bragging

As you get older, your push-up rate will gradually get better and when you enroll in the marines they train you to be able to do what is nessasary so there isn't a certain number of push-ups you need to be able to do regularly.
Report as
not bragging? just shocked, and thats true, they will really push you

Keep doing push ups. I do 3 sets of 30 every night. 5 push ups in 6 positions: 2 narrow, 2 medium and 2 wide. You might want to start doing sets every night. Pull ups would be good too if you want to be a Marine. Get one of the pull up bars that you can use for push ups.

Good luck!

thanks! last time i tried i could do 12 pull ups, that good?
Report as
Not too bad, I don't ever do pull ups and I can get about 15-20 before I want to cry, it just depends on how well I'm rested. You still have time to get strong & what not. Work your core and abs too, it never hurt anyone.
Report as
yeah i know, my abs arent the best... but i kinda have an out line

Being able to do any push ups is good. Exorcise is good. Suggest you do some running, push ups and pull ups too. How many you will need to do will probably depend on how peeved you make your superior officers. Jk, but the more you can do the better.

Capitalize Marine*
Learn to do more
Don't stop improving
You can stop when you get discharged, or when you're dead
And you aren't allowed to die without permission, so try not to do that

That's pretty impressive for a 15 year old boy do do 50 in a row. For the military you might need to do more but you got a lot of time. You got to be built to be in the military. If your one of those super thin kids who could do 50 push ups cause your light, then forget it, but if your lean, you're good to go

Depending on when you want to join the military, I say bulk up with protein bars & weight gain shakes. You'll be ripped & ready to go
Report as
alright! thanks! i want to hit the gym too! :D

The marines require you to do 2 minutes straight of push-ups.
