In my area, they average around two hundred to two hundred fifty dollars per hour. Make sure it's something that really interests you, whatever career you choose. Life's too short to work at something you hate if you can avoid it. Good luck.

well there is a retainment fee which is like if I'm a lawyer and you paid that fee i cant go to the other person in that trial and be their lawyer instead and then my family's lawyer charges $200 per hour that he works on my family's case.
DO NOT become a lawyer because of the money you expect to make. Many lawyers are not making a living wage these days because there are too many. More importantly than that, law is an extremely contentious career; watch and see how many negative comments you see/read about hating lawyers, how sly they are, and how people would like to kill them. There is no happiness in the areas of law that make people rich, only pain. You need to think more about how you want to spend your life, what you want out of your career, what you are willing to endure to achieve your goals.
