We have six children and we home schooled two of them. My advice would be to first, contact the home school association in your area. They can give you lots of good information and support for the home schooling process.
Be sure to have a structured school day at home, legally outlined lesson plans, a schedule, accomplishment charts and a reward system. But I think the most important thing, is to make sure your children are tested properly to pass each and every grade.
To avoid depression in your child due to isolation at home and to round out their education, make sure your children does things with other children as much as possible, outside of the home. The library is a great resource for social activities, involving other kids. Good luck.
