Brush some olive oil or melted butter on both sides of 4 thick cut pieces of italian bread (or whatever you have), then add 2 cloves or so minced garlic, 1/2 a cup parmesan cheese (please use REAL parmesan), a few little pinches basil or parsley, and salt + pepper. I sometimes add a teeny pinch (1 tsp.) of breadcrumbs to make the top extra crunchy. Right before the pasta is done, 1 to 2 minutes on Lo broil will toast these to perfection.
In a small bowl like a custard cup, mix 2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese and 1 teaspoon minced garlic. Spread it on top of 1 slice of buttered bread, usually Italian or French bread. Bake in an oven or toaster over at around 400% for 3 to 5 minutes until the cheese melts and gets brown at the edges. *Watch it carefully * so it doesn't burn.
