can dogs have nightmares or is there somethin wrong with my puppy?!?!

well.. when my dog is asleep she will start snoring really loud then start kicking her legs and sometimes starts barking and she will also start breathing really hard and when i try to wake her up i shake her alot and pick her up and she will wake up like 8 secounds later BUY FORCE and im really worried about this and if they do have nightmares how can i have them stop and she is a very spoled dog =) and she is taken care of very good and i had her ever since she was younger so shes not a rescue and she is now almost 3 mounths so PLEASE HELP ME:-(

Yes dogs can have nightmares, normally there is nothing we could do about it but try to sooth them. It could be that they still remember being taken away from their mothers/siblings at a young age.

maybe your dog is having nightmares about some other dog taking her man away haha.

It's ok my dog dreams to its perfectly normal . Next time your dog does it just let it sleep your dog will be fine .

I agree. My dog does the same thing, but I never thought about it being a nightmare. Her legs jerk, sometimes rythmically like she's running, her breathing changes (almost like snoring). I thought she was having a good time chasing rabbits or something. I've only had her 6 wks. She was in a rescue shelter for 3 years - she's almost 8 yrs old now. She probably would have a lot of things to have nightmares about. But I have seen other dogs do similar jerking while they slept. I believe it's all perfectly normal like Shane says...

yep they can have nightmares mine always barks and moves his legs like he is running in his sleep. its normal it happens.

It's normal, don't worry. We have two, and sometimes they're both barking in their sleep at the same time !

yes they can my 180 pound red nose runns after or away from stuff in his dreams its kinda funny

Yes, that's totally normal. My dog snores and does weird kicking things with his legs.. Ahaha.
