What are some common products made by Johnson & Johnson and Proctor & Gamble?

These companies use animal testing and I want to avoid buying them.

Listerine toothpaste, acuvue, Band-Aid, Neosporin, Tylenol, Splenda, and Zyrtec are common products made by them.

koichan, Johnson & Johnson has released many statements that they do not test any of their products, including their cosmetic products, on animals nor do they have any outside companies do testing on animals for them. The company has been around for so many years it would have been a major story because some how, some way, if this was true it would have been reported on by now.

I hope you are correct. I will check Snopes and see if they address this question.

Johnson & Johnson does use animals for testing. Several sites confirm this to be the truth. Here is one. http://www.sourcewatch.org/index.php/Animal_testing

http://www.sourcewatch.org/index.php/Animal_testing This site lists companies that use animal testing, and J&J is one of them.

The site I listed above, lists experiments done to animals and the companies that conduct/support them. It is extremely upsetting to read the details, if you are sensitive, I don't recommend you read the specific articles as it describes what they do to those poor animals, but you can see the list of companies that commit these terrible acts against animals.

I respect what you are saying. I am a staunch advocate against cruelty to animals in all aspects however, those sites are from a third-party. The articles were released firsthand by Johnson & Johnson. If any of those articles were found to be filled with mistruths, someone would have found out and the company would have been gone after hard. Thank you for the sites albeit I have no desire to have my stomach turn and my heart in my throat. Your question was a good awareness one. Enjoy your day!

Thank you, enjoy yours also. When investigating something as heinous as cruelty to animals, as that is what animal testing is after all, I believe the best source is third party ones. J&J has a huge interest in keeping such information from the public, and if you think misrepresentation will be detected, just check the history of the tobacco companies. I prefer not to settle on one company for the accurate information, but several. I totally agree that I cannot look at those picture, there were none on the opening pages of the sites I mentioned. I think you and I can be friends, we seem to think alike and have much compassion for animals. I hope this is so. Good to exchange thoughts with you.

I am 52. I am well aware and appreciate you telling me what to do. Hiding information regarding additives in cigarettes (there are people whom have never smoked and still died from lung cancer) and testing products on innocent animals are at opposite ends of the spectrum. I gave my opinion and stand by my post. Thank you.

Yes, I agree. An exchange with open-minded people is very refreshing. I am certain we will cross paths again. :-)

I made a mistake. Kimberly-Clark is the producer of Kleenex. Johnson & Johnson products also include No More Tears baby shampoo as well as baby lotion and all other baby body products. Johnson & Johnson released many statements that they do not, or have any outside agencies test their products as listed above or any of their cosmetic products on animals.
