What could this be: Hard painful pea-sized lump under skin?

I have had for over a year now. Lump under skin of fatty part of skin under right arm, not in the armpit though. Hard, pea-sized, none movable, sharp pains surrounding area if stretch skin out, very sharp/burning pain to the touch, no head noted in center, discoloration of skin on area red-purple, skin color changes at times. I have pictures, unsure how to attach.

It could be cancerous......I would go to a doctor......though if it hasn't grown, it may not be malignant, so that's good.....

could be a large wart, or it could be cancerous. either way I'd get a professional opinion on that one.

get to a doc. it could possibly be cancerous. it's better to get it checked and it be nothing rather than not get it checked and a year later find out it was cancer and it has done some severe damage.

If it hurts it could be a small Boil or Cyst. I would get it looked at by a Dr right away.

i would say a citst but dont think they stay that long.., have to agree with 97, my doc said exactly what you described is to be of concern and you need to make a apartment asap! I spoke with my doc a few days ago about something and what to look for and when should i make a doc visit. you will need to have it removed even if its not cancers bc/ it can turn cancers. best of wish keep you in my prays! >dont wait! make the apartment today!<

Dawn, nobody on site, even qualified licensed health care professionals can diagnose over the net. It could be something as simple as a cyst or infected hair follicle, or more serious. Before you drive yourself crazy get off the net and make an appointment. This doesn't have to be bad, just check it out. Good luck!

Sounds like a cyst. Can't be sure, but definitely get to a doctor quick!
