If I were to go onto birth control, how guaranteed am I to not have children?

Like, is there even a chance I could get pregnant? (if I were to have sex)

The only birth control that is 100% effective is abstinence, most Birth Control are 98-99.5% effective however IF they are taken properly. But there is *always* a chance, however slim that you could get pregnant.

Other than abstinence, there is no form of birth control that is 100% effective. Even those that have high effective rates, that is assuming that they are being used/taken correctly - which many people don't always do them correctly, so they will often have a lower effectiveness rate. Keep in mind too, that except for condoms, none protect against STDs.

Other than abstinence nothing. After all that's what s.e.x is for. Having children.

I totally agree. I was just curious... I have to go onto birth control for health reasons, and I was just wondering. I most likely won't go that far, though. Thanks for your help. :)

As others have said, the only 100% effective form of birth control is abstinence. The pill has a high effectiveness rate but also has health risks associated with it depending on your age and other factors. Some forms, like condoms and foams, have a variable effectiveness rate because they're not always used properly and consistently.
