help me with my iPad?

I dropped my iPad 2 like a foot, and the screen will turn on, but all that is on the screen are black and grey bars. it's never done this before. I have a Survivor Case on it and it's not broken at all. the screen is in tact completely. any tips how to get it fixed ASAP???!,

You dislocated a piece of hardware somewhere in the device. Probably nothing broke just a jolt loosened it up. Take to the apple store they should fix it or get you a new one

Doesn't sound like a very serious fall. Did it land screen down? I would guess from what you are saying that you pulled or ripped the screen ribbon within the devise, if so the devise is toast. But it would be very hard to rip a ribbon like that so idk, but it's definently an internal problem that you probably don't wanna mess with. If it is under warranty I would call them and see about getting it replaced

It landed slanted against a chair. I don't know how that little fall messed it up, but It did. It fell right side up with its back against the chair

Hmm....Could have knocked a chip lose on the mother board. If you know what your doing you could take it apart and resolder it, sounds like an easy fix for people that know what they are doing and have all the tools needed. If you are willing to void a warranty without any guarantee of being able to fix it then tear into it (I would). But it would be best you call customer support on it and try to get it replaced (assuming it's still under warranty). I had a DVD player do this once, tore it apart and found that the screen ribbon was torn (a ribbon make of many wires instead if having many wires loose inside the devise).

Hold the home and lock button tell the screen goes completely black at this point take it off immediately otherwise you will Wipe the iPad. This is an alternate way to turn it off without having to slide your finger across now that you have it turned it off turn it back on the normal way if this does not work I'm sorry if it does please comment back
