If you're not significantly over weight then you're not gonna lose weight very fast. What I do to lose weight fast is intermittent fasting and 5 mile run every other night. Most people can't handle the fasting part but it definitely melts the pounds away.
You're not going to lose weight fast, so you're already setting yourself up for failure. I run anywhere between 2-8 miles every single night, and it's taken 3.5 months to lose 16 pounds. Not to mention I've changed my diet too. Just running probably would have given me 8 pounds, if that. Good luck.
