Why does my cat has two different eye colors

1 brown 1 green the brown one looks green but with a brown cloud developing over it what is this called the cloud is like fading into a different color not a problem its like 3/4 th of the eye are brown the rest is green not really a cloud

Natural and called 'odd eyes' in cat books. I had one with a green and a yellow eye! The cloud however, could mean cataracts or just a scar! Have the vet peek at that!

Two different eye colors is called heterochromia. It could be a cataract over one eye, which would affect your cat's vision though.

heterochromia ... I never knew there was a name for it ... star.

I guess that would mean one eye color would be homochromia. HA!

Hi, Fairchild. It's normal for animals to have two different eyes colors. It even happens in humans. But I would take him/her to the vet because of the "cloud" that is developing over the one eye. Usually a cataract is white and I'm not sure what this could be. I don't know if it could be an early sign of it going blind or something else, but to be "better safe than sorry", that's certainly what I'd do. No sense in taking chances with the little thing.

Well, then, I guess it's changing I color, Fairchild. I honestly don't know!I've never heard of that! LOL I still would take it to the vet and make sure that's what it is. I just don't take chances with my babies; but I'll have to say that's one of the most interesting things I've heard of. And I just read Sweetieheart's response. Never heard of that either. Very interesting!
