Stop being negative?

I always see the negative side of things. for example- we came to a condo in Florida and my room was all messed up and dirty and instead of making the best of it, I couldn't stop complaining. idk if it is just cuz of hormones, cuz I'm only 13 and I want to be more pleasant, I don't want to be negative all the time, but ifs just natural:/ how to be more positive?

Don't expect stuff to be handed to you on a silver platter...don't blame age, just make things better and it's ok to complain, but then take action.

The best way is to be thankful for what you have. Look at third world countries that don't have the luxuries of getting instant hot, cold, and or clean water. The same goes for transportation, education, freedom, ect. People in different countries cannot be as picky as us Americans they just don't have the option.

I can't say whether or not this works for others, but for me thinking of foreign countries starving while I sit in the lap of luxury does not make me think positive thoughts. Maybe that's just me though.

Well I am sorry if I am depressing you, my intentions were for people to realize how good they really have it. Us Americans get so carried away in what we don't have instead what we do. I don't mean to sound depressing. Even tho I realize now what you mean. Haha. :)

Oh no you weren't depressing me and I actually agree. I think we should look at what we have too.

Think to yourself whenever you are gonna be negative... How can I turn this negative into a positive? If you practice it enough it will come easier to you! :0)

I like being negative, it helps to see the dark side of the world most people normally can't see but which is hidden in plain sight. :D

To be honest, it's perfectly fine to be a pessimist.. It doesn't really matter how you see things. The only thing that matters is what you do with those things. When you go to your messed up room and start seeing how bad it is, it's important to recognize that it is bad so you can fix it. Turn your negative perspective into motivation to fix the problem. If, however, you really don't want to see things negatively, I recommend calming music, tea (non-caffeinated), sleep, and essentially telling yourself all day in your head that you are a positive person. Eventually, it will come to you.

First study your interior to see if there's something bothering you that you are not really aware of; for example, are you hungry, thirsty, feeling fat, frustrated with a relationship. If there's an underlying cause, fix that and the mood will improve. If there's nothing going on inside, try to find humor in the situation and say something funny. That's the only thing that works for me when I'm feeling moody. If it was my room that was a mess, I'd say something like: Okay, so now I'm the maid! Where's my darmed tip! And then clean it with a smile. Forcing yourself to smile even when you don't feel like it can improve your mood--no kidding, it really does.
