True. Sorry my other answer didn't get through. I forgot to sign in first. Your dr or pharmacist can help diagnosis it but it's the dr who well be able to treat it.. Remember it is contagious. Use separate face cloths and towels.
"Conjunctivitis (also called pink eye or madras eye) is inflammation of the conjunctiva (the outermost layer of the eye and the inner surface of the eyelids). It is most commonly due to an infection (usually viral, but sometimes bacterial) or an allergic reaction."
According to a friend of mine who happens to be a doctor, the main difference between an eye irritation is that it is simply irritated and can be easily remedied while a pink eye or what is commonly known as "conjunctivitis" will have this goopy discharge that makes the eye/s stick. Pink eye, either (viral/bacterial) can be caused by bacteria or viruses that can be transmitted to another person, while allergic conjunctivitis is not contagious. For allergic conjunctivitis, you can drink antibiotic or antihistamine. Pink eyes usually last for 2-3 days, you may as well need to be diagnosed by a physician for fast relief and prescription.
