How old do you have to be to get a job in U.S.A.?

My mom says 18 but I have seen younger people working

Report as

14 with a signed work permit, but only on specific jobs, NO machinery OR sharp blades. With Parent approval AND the knowledge that if school work suffers the permit is rescinded.

Ha! I went to a park in Florida, and it was one that said dont touch the gators ad stuff. I went on this little trail out in the middle of it cuz I had seen the trail they make with their tails, and right in front of me was this gator about 5 feet long. Nothing between me and him. It was amazing. I want a gator statue now.

The standard age is 16, but some places allow younger kids to work with a work permit or if it's a family business. Mainly because of social security and tax reasons. In the summer you see a lot of kids who can do independent jobs or they might walk beans and de-tassel corn.
